To make a can phone, you will need two empty cans, a sharp object to poke holes in the cans, and a long piece of string. Poke a hole in the bottom of each can and thread the string through the holes. Pull the string tight and talk into one can while the other person listens through the other can. The sound waves will travel along the string, allowing you to communicate with each other.
The major weaknesses of the push-pull theory include its oversimplification of the factors influencing migration decisions, its static nature that does not account for evolving circumstances, and its inability to explain why similar push and pull factors result in different migration outcomes for different individuals or groups.

On older cans, they were made of an aluminum pull ring attached to a steel teardrop shaped metal piece. On newer cans, both segments are made of aluminum. The newer versions are made to allow the pull tab (or lever) to remain attached to the can and the pull tab portion to sink into the opening of the can but not separate from the can.
