The right word is "Mechanical Pencil." Anyways, kids are mostly the ones who use "Lead Pencils." Grades 2nd and up use lead pencils because they think it's cool. But some people like it because you write better with it or you like the decorations for the lead pencil. The bottom line is that they just think it's cool.
