I have noticed this too - annoying isn't it?. I wondered if it was because the seams of the shirts create some resistance against the water so the outside of the garment moves faster and the shirt turns in-side-out - just a wild guess though.

Why do clothes turn inside out in a washing machine?

Clothes can turn inside out in a washing machine due to the tumbling and spinning action of the machine. The force of the water and movement inside the drum can cause clothes to flip around and reverse their position. The agitation helps to clean the clothes thoroughly by allowing water and detergent to reach all parts of the fabric.

What is the Energy transfer for washing machine?

A washing machine uses electrical energy to power its motor, which in turn rotates the drum to wash clothes. As the drum spins, it transfers mechanical energy to the clothes, agitating them to remove dirt and stains. The water and detergent in the machine also contribute to the cleaning process by transferring chemical energy to break down and remove stains.

What is the difference between an agitator and an impeller in a washing machine?

Top-loaders have two options for swirling the load: an agitator (central spindle), or an impeller (a small bump at the bottom of the bowl). Impellers spin and pulse to turn the washing over, rather than twisting it. Washing machines with impellers tend to be easier to load and unload, but their dirt removal isn't always as good as agitator models.

What energy transformation that occur in washing machine?

Electricity is transformed into mechanical energy to turn the motor, which then moves the agitator or drum to clean the clothes. Some energy is also converted into heat to warm the water during the wash cycle.
