wheels. It is basic physics that something in motion will stop being in motion unless
another force is acted upon it that keeps it going, which is why the wheels would
stop spinning without being touched. There would be no force acting on the
wheels that would keep them going.

another force acts upon it to stop it.
-- A wheel spinning, even without any contact to anything on the rim, eventually
stops spinning because of the energy lost to friction where the hub meets the axle,
and the energy lost to friction where air rubs against the rim.
-- NO force is required to keep anything going, and when there is NO force on a
moving object, it keeps going.
