It will crack because like clay in a hot oven, if all the spots are not covered correctly, it will have a chance of cracking, but when the hot water gets into the crack, it will start to make it bigger. If the expansion is uneven, the glass will break and I don't understand why it won't break with a metal spoon.
Crack a result over prolonged time as it occur due to inter-relationship with the preceeding and succeding criteria whereas fracture occur suddenly when there is an external force applied over it.
It appears broken because of the reflection of the object and it's from the other molecules hitting the water which causes a bend like appearance to happen the light bends.the light bending is called refraction.
An empty 50-gallon metal drum typically weighs around 30-40 pounds, depending on the thickness of the metal used in its construction.
When a metal rod vibrates at its resonant frequency, it can create extremely powerful standing waves that transfer energy to the glass. This energy transfer causes the glass to vibrate as well, eventually reaching its breaking point due to stress and fracture.
A plane mirror and a glass mirror both reflect light due to their smooth and flat surfaces. The difference is in the material used to coat the back surface - a plane mirror has a thin layer of metal, while a glass mirror has a thin layer of metal deposited on the back side of the glass.
As the metal spoon is a good conductor of heat and because heat travels from a hotter reigion to a colder reigion, the metal spoon will conduct heat away from the hot water and thus, the emty glass will not crack.
The metal spoon has the capacity to absorb some of the heat of the very hot water, but not very much. It only makes a small difference.the crcking cracking crack
A very small split in something such as glass, wood, or metal. Or crack can also be a type of drug.

If they did so then as the steel frames changed size as the metal they are made out of expanded and contracted with changing temperature the glass would crack. There need to be a gap to accommodate this.

An epoxy will bond glass to metal.
Metal deposits that occur in the cracks of rocks.
Well, darling, when glass is heated, it expands unevenly due to its non-crystalline structure, causing stress that leads to cracking. Metal, on the other hand, is more flexible and can handle the heat without shattering like a delicate little snowflake. So, in short, glass cracks because it's a drama queen, and metal stays cool as a cucumber.
Glass can be distinguished from metal refuse by its smooth and transparent appearance, in contrast to the solid and opaque nature of metal. Glass is also usually lighter in weight compared to metal refuse. Additionally, glass is not magnetic, which can be a distinguishing factor when trying to identify it from metal.
I would never recommend metal racks in glass pans . Both conduct heat at different levels and can cause the glass to brake. Please use metal racks in your metal pans .
