From a survey of 100 people 78% of them would not like a wind farm near them. But most of them don't mind it being anywhere else. Maybe for these negatives and positives...

Positives, - low maintenance, no by product (think nuclear) energy. flexible locations, long term, sustainable and consistent.

Negative - affects local landscape, doesn't work in slow wind OR too faster winds(!), no jobs provided, the oil companies barely get anything from it.

What is a problem with wind turbines?

One problem with wind turbines is their visual impact on the landscape, as some people find them unsightly. Additionally, wind turbines can be a threat to birds and bats, as they can collide with the rotating blades. Finally, wind turbines are not always reliable sources of energy due to their dependence on wind availability.

Is wind electrical energy?

Wind is not electrical energy itself, but it can be harnessed to create electrical energy through technologies like wind turbines. Wind turbines use the kinetic energy of the wind to spin turbines, which then generate electricity through a generator.

Are there any detrimental effects when wind under goes its transformation when it is put to practial use?

When wind is harnessed for practical use like generating electricity through wind turbines, there can be some detrimental effects. These may include noise pollution from the turbines, visual impact on landscapes, and potential harm to wildlife like birds and bats. Additionally, large-scale wind energy projects can sometimes cause disruption to local ecosystems and communities.

What is a cluster of wind turbines called?

A cluster of wind turbines is typically referred to as a wind farm. These wind farms are designed to generate electricity by harnessing the power of the wind through multiple turbines working together in the same location.

How do Darrieus wind turbines differ from Brush wind turbines?

Darrieus wind turbines have a vertical axis and rely on lift forces to spin the blades, while Brush wind turbines have a horizontal axis and capture wind with a larger rotor diameter. Darrieus turbines are typically smaller and better suited for urban environments, while Brush turbines are larger and more efficient for utility-scale applications.

Why are people turning to wind turbines?

People are turning to Wind Turbines these day because they are finding that they are economically safer and that their cattle are ignoring the power stations.People are turning to wind turbines because it helps in the generation of power which is cost-effective and helps to cut energy bills. A wind turbine can also be setup in an area near you...Hence people are turning to wind turbines.
