Because of Newton's 3rd law, if you push on a wall with, let's say, 10 N, the wall will, by definition of the law, push back on you with 10N. The forces are balanced and you don't move backwards because the forces "cancel out" because they are equal and opposite, and if Fnet=0, we now acceleration must be 0.

What happens to a wall if you push on it with a force of 10 N.?

If you push on a wall with a force of 10 N, the wall will push back on you with an equal force of 10 N in the opposite direction, according to Newton's third law of motion. The wall will not move or be damaged, as long as the force does not exceed the wall's structural integrity.

Why doesn't a wall move when you push it?

The pushing force exerted by physical human effort against the wall is not enough! If the pushing force becomes greater than the weight of the wall held down by the earth's gravity, then the wall will topple. A mechanical digger is able to exert a greater side force then a human, and will topple (demolish) the wall.

What happens when you push against a brick wall?

When you push against a brick wall, the wall exerts an equal and opposite force back on you, as per Newton's third law of motion. The wall does not move because it has a much greater mass and inertia compared to you. Your effort is mostly expended on compressing your own muscles and joints, leading to fatigue.

According to Newton's third law of motion, if you push against a wall, the wall will push back with an equal and opposite force. What will the wall do in response to your push?

According to Newton's third law, the wall will push back against you with an equal force in the opposite direction.

If you push for an hour against a stationary wall you do no work why?

Work is calculated as force multiplied by displacement in the direction of the force. In this scenario, since the wall doesn't move, there is no displacement in the direction of the force. Therefore, no work is done on the wall.

Why is it that when you push a wall it will not move?

because objects move when proper force is acted upon them which works on moving and changing these objects direction.

How do you push somebody on poptropica?

I don't think dat u can push another player if that's what you mean but if you can push something (a trashcan or wall) then walk up 2 it and push in the direction that u want 2 move it :)

How possible for a force to act for a long time and yet does no work?

For example : when we push a wall it doesn't move anywhere I think you don't know the equation for work Work =force* distance For something to work it should move too then there is no work done In the example we push the wall yet it doesn't move to a distance So no work done

What muscle push hard against the wall?

muscle that push hard to wall

Why is it that no matter how stronger you push the wall the wall still standing in?

In most video games there are walls that cannot be pushed down. Regardless of how strong you are. Try pushing in a different section of the wall and it may move.

It's a push

What is he definition of work?

Work is the product of a force and the distance through which it acts in the direction of the force. In order for work to be done, the object must move in the direction of the force. If you push on a brick wall until you exhaust yourself and the wall doesn't move, you have not done any work. If you push on a box and it moves in the direction that you are pushing it, you have done work.
