Interfering with the thought processes of a person is an effective way to immediately change their behavior. It is so uncharacteristic, that the person immediately stops what they are doing, and starts trying to figure out why they can't think about the thing that they want to. I have no idea what kind of beings it takes to exercise this power, but I've seen it take place enough in my own life to know that in my case, I'm doing something that I need to stop doing, for at least a little while. Perhaps I am attempting to explain something to someone and they would be damaged by the revelation of what I wanted to say. Other times, I want to act out of anger, and there would be unskillful consequences if I were allowed to do this. The term "he went into a blind rage" is so common that has its own phrase, and is characterised by a temporary blindness placed upon a person so that they have limited ability to act out their angry desires. There is one famous person in The Bible that had this happen to them, and the story is well documented, if not actually proven. Paul, originally a persecutor of Christians in the early church, was instructed to change his name from Saul, and given an elaborate ritual to follow in order to get his eyesight back. Naturally, a Christian was the person selected to "heal" Paul's vision. Paul then became as fervent a supporter of Christians as he had previously been working to destroy them. Normally, as soon as you relinquish your angry intentions, your eyesight is restored, particularly if you agree to not attempt the behavior you were planning on AFTER you get your eyesight back. Mental blocks are more subtle, and what they are designed to accomplish, I haven't been exactly able to determine, but they happen often enough to be very commonplace. Skeptics will argue that there is no such thing as controlling people, mentally or otherwise, and they may be correct. They will say that getting older causes such events, i.e. having a "senior moment". While it IS true that older people are MORE CONSIOUS of when these events happen to them, they happen to people of all ages, and so, old age cannot be the ONLY explanation for this phenomenon. Lately, I am completely aware of what it is that I am being blocked about, but I am unable to translate the abstract concept into an equivalent spoken word. If I sit there and dwell on WANTING the word for what I want to say, I almost never have to give up waiting for it. Speaking to others is the only time that I seem to have to agree to put the topic "on hold" for now. Usually, after only 2 or 3 mintues, the word is released, and my mind, which has been instructed by me to keep focused on the request, will interrupt everything I am doing a second time, this time to give the result rather triumphantly, as if it were a mighty accomplishment. I find this amusing, but I otherwise have no adequate explanations. I'm glad you are curious enough to ask a question that most other people don't even bother to wonder about and just accept as a fact of life, when in reality, it is MIGHTY passing strange!
The aluminum block will experience a greater buoyant force compared to the iron block because aluminum is less dense than iron, making it more buoyant in water. The buoyant force is equal to the weight of the water displaced by the object, so the lighter aluminum block displaces more water and experiences a stronger upward force.
Blocks 2 and 3 will experience equal and opposite forces as they are in contact with each other. As you pull on one block, the block next to it will experience a reaction force in the opposite direction due to Newton's third law of motion. This interaction allows the blocks to move together without separating.
That depends on where it is. If it's on the surface of the Earth, then the forces of gravity in both directions between the block and the Earth are about 9.807 newtons (2.204 pounds). But if you take the block to the moon's surface, for example, then the forces of gravity in both directions between the block and the Moon are about 1.62 newtons (5.84 ounces).
The block with the lowest specific heat capacity will experience the greatest increase in temperature. Since specific heat capacity measures the amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature of a substance, the block with the lowest specific heat capacity will heat up faster with the same amount of heat energy absorbed. Therefore, the metal block with the lowest specific heat capacity will experience the greatest temperature increase.
The three types of mediums are physical mediums, mental mediums, and spiritual mediums. Physical mediums experience physical manifestations during a séance, mental mediums communicate with spirits mentally, and spiritual mediums channel messages from spirits to relay to the living.
We block bad memories o avoid (mental) pain.
It can be used as a saying for the equivalent of 'brain fart' or just a simple mental block.
