They do, just not as much as animals like those of the feline family would. Zebras, just like any horse, prefer to utilize the power in their hindquarters to fight than the pawing capacity of their front legs. The front feet and legs are more to block and parry with a rival stallion than to strike with. The main thing they'd use to strike with coming from their forehand (or front quarters) is their mouth.
The do the same as horses they do every trick they know of like kicking with the back of there legs as high as they can to show of what they can do, really they do every thing in there power to do a trick so the lady's will think there hot hot.:)
Most horses will protect themselves by fleeing. If necessary, they may kick out with their back legs as they flee. Stallions may fight by biting and kicking other stallions to win the right to mate with all the mares in the herd.
