Eucalyptus foliage can be preserved by either of these methods.
* hang upside down in a bunch in a dry area.
* mix water and glycerine in equal parts and place the cut stems into the mix for 2-3 weeks in a darkened area. The foliage absorbs the glycerine and remains more life-like than the air drying method. This method is not failsafe, though, as the rate of absorption is not always even. The foliage can absorb too much oil, and it is a real mess, dripping oil from the leaves for months to come.
To properly preserve and store dry eucalyptus, place it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. You can also store it in a sealed container or bag to help maintain its fragrance and appearance. Additionally, consider adding a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil to refresh the scent over time.
