What I have been taught is that cold water will actually send the roots into shock. And it can take upwards of an hour for the plant to fully recover. The latter is that warm water is less of a shock. Also depending on your media, moss based types will saturate more quickly and evenly with warm water. Especially if they are on the very dry side. Hope this helps.
Plants in cold places have adaptations like small leaves, hairy coatings, and the ability to freeze and thaw without damage. In wet places, plants may have shallow roots, large leaves for efficient water absorption, and specialized structures to shed excess water.
plants need cold water to survive
Plants do not get as cold
warm water
cold because the plants won't grow if you use hot water. it will die
Plants generally prefer room temperature water, so it's best to avoid using cold water straight from the tap. Cold water can shock the roots and hinder the plant's ability to absorb nutrients. It's better to use water that is at room temperature or slightly warm when watering your plants.
