The phrase "a lily of a day" suggests something beautiful and fleeting, much like a lily flower that blooms for a short time. It conveys the idea that moments of beauty and joy are often transient, emphasizing the importance of appreciating them while they last. This metaphor can reflect on the impermanence of life and the need to cherish ephemeral experiences.
