It depends on the variety. The 'giants' can get as tall as 12-14 feet although 10-12 is more common. There are varieties that will only grow to 5-7 feet and even some dwarf plants that get no more than 3-4 feet. The most common, however are the giants. When you see huge fields of them it is Probably the giant. The pkg of seeds will tell you what to expect. I currently have about 200 giants planted as shading for my SW garden. They are well over 7 ft just now.

Sunflowers are tall (often reaching or exceeding six feet) and like lots of sunlight.
Some flowers that grow tall include sunflowers, hollyhocks, delphiniums, and foxgloves. These flowers can reach heights of several feet, making them ideal choices for adding vertical interest to your garden or landscape.
All flowers grow to different heights. I have seen sunflowers that are 8 feet tall and crocuses that are only 8 inches tall.
