The Amoses
Bud has slept in the room of multiple hosts, including Ed and Barbara.
Bud ended up sleeping outside the library beneath the trees because he had nowhere else to go. He was homeless and searching for his father, and the library felt like a safe place for him to spend the night.
Bud's mother named him after his father, whose nickname was "Bud." This naming choice reflects a connection to his father's identity and legacy. Throughout the story, Bud seeks to understand his roots and the significance of his name as he searches for his family.

Bud's father is not entirely known but might've been one of Herman E. Calloway's drummers who ran away with Bud's mother.
When Todd's mother entered the room and saw the boys fighting in the book "Bud, Not Buddy," she promptly grabbed Todd by the ear and scolded him for being involved in the fight. She then scolded the other boy, Bud, for not fighting back and being beaten up.
