Is a Venus Flytrap a heterotroph or autotroph?

It is an autotroph. It doesn't need to eat flies to survive. I had a venus fly trap and never gave it flies and it lived just fine with photosynthesis. Heterotrophs need to eat others to live.

Venus Flytraps may be seen as a heterotroph because it consumes flies for nutrients but it is essentially still a autotroph because it does make its own food through photosynthesis.
