Chloroplasts can be compared to solar panels in that they both capture energy from sunlight. Just as solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, chloroplasts use light energy to facilitate photosynthesis, converting carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. Additionally, both structures operate efficiently to harness energy for their respective systems—solar panels for electrical power and chloroplasts for biological energy storage in plants.
