actually yes henna is originally made in red/auburn colors but you can also find different color in some indian stores i have dark hair the color was coated with the henna to turn it red let it be known that henna does not have a long-term effect it should wash out after at least three washes
I think it does. Cause I had old henna powder that doesn't give color anymore. I tried new henna and it gave me lovely reddish tone.
