Consider first that boiling water will kill darn near every living thing and frozen water is of no use to any living thing. Somewhere in the middle there is life possible. Say between 32F. and 212F. Moreover, the temperatures found here on Earth generally rule out life as we know it above 130F & below 32F.

Further, you cannot pour or sprinkle water at 32F. or below as it is ice and above 212F it just floats away into the atmosphere as water vapor. Furthermore I shall note for you that grasses generally begin to 'green up' and grow soon after the last frost as the ground warms and then later in the year the grass turns browner as frost or really high heat approaches

So we're talking about a temperature range comfortable for the grasses and not necessarily comfortable for a human being. Grasses, before mankind thought about pouring hot water on them, never ever knew or planned to grow here on Earth with hot water. If grass has no choice, say in the dessert or high up in the mountains, about the temperature or the water it has available, some grasses will adjust a bit. You didn't say where you plan to grow this grass so I'm guessing you are not in any of these places. Besides, grasses in these areas is sparse and just getting by.

The midway point or mean point between 130F. and 32F Is found as 130F.+32F./2 or 81F. Now that's Summertime and grass grows super duper in the Summer so I'm guessing water at 81F. is the best for grasses. If it gets hotter than 81F. weeds start to grow generally and this is not very good development for grasses, is it?

So now, there you have it. I suppose most people will agree that water at 81F is WARM and not HOT.
