It is becoming more common in Iloilo and Bacolod, and venders from Bacolod occasionally join the plant shows in Davao. Ironically, there is a small curry tree growing in People's Park, but I don't know if it's actually legal to pick a seed from it. It doesn't seem to have been planted. So, one must assume someone is growing curry nearby, and a bird ate the fruit and dropped a seed there.
