Plants use light energy (present in the photons of blue and red light) to break apart carbon dioxide and combine it with nutrients in order to produce glucose. Any lighting will do as long as it is a strong emitter of blue and red light; the sun is one, and fluorescent bulbs are another.

Can plants grow under fluorescent light?

Yes, plants can grow under fluorescent light, but they may not grow as well as they would under natural sunlight or specialized grow lights. Fluorescent lights provide some of the necessary light spectrum for plant growth, but they may not be as intense or have the full spectrum of light that plants need for optimal growth.

Can plants grow under fluorescent lights?

Yes, plants can grow under fluorescent lights because they provide the necessary light spectrum for photosynthesis, which is essential for plant growth.

Can plants grow under fluorescent office light?

Yes, plants can grow under fluorescent office light, but they may not thrive as well as they would under natural sunlight or specialized grow lights. Fluorescent lights provide some of the necessary light spectrum for plant growth, but they may not be as intense or balanced as natural light.

Can plants grow with fluorescent light as their primary source of illumination?

Yes, plants can grow with fluorescent light as their primary source of illumination. Fluorescent lights provide the necessary light spectrum for photosynthesis, allowing plants to grow and thrive.

Can plants grow in fluorescent light?

Yes, plants can grow in fluorescent light, but they may not grow as well as they would in natural sunlight or full-spectrum grow lights. Fluorescent lights provide some of the necessary light spectrum for plant growth, but they may not provide enough intensity or the full range of light wavelengths that plants need for optimal growth.

Do plants grow under artificial light?

Yes, plants can grow under artificial light, such as LED or fluorescent lights. However, it is important to provide the right intensity, spectrum, and duration of light to support healthy plant growth. Specialized grow lights are available for indoor plant cultivation to mimic natural sunlight.

Do plants grow better under light bulbs or under sunlight?

Will plants grow under fluorescent lites?

Plants (at least leafy plants, such as houseplants) seem to like fluorescent light just fine. The trouble is, you're NOT going to make get fluorescent lighting as bright as direct sunlight. Not a problem for many houseplants, but cultivating a typical arable outdoor plant, say a potato plant, under fluorescent lights won't work unless you use a LOT of lights / reflectors / mirrors / other clever tricks. Too little light will make plants spindly. A lack of blue light will do that too. So, if you are unsure if you are using enough light, make sure you at least use daylight tubes. Ask you supplier for "triphospor lights with high color temperature". These give a lot of light with enough blue rays.

Will plants grow as well inside with plant lights?

Fluorescent light works for most of plants and even aquarium fish. But when it comes to special races of plants, such as mariguana or some philotherms, HPS or MH can achieve a better effect. Check the link below for more detail about fluorescent light.
