Why temperature plays a major role in determining the types of crops that can be grown?

Weather has a definite effect on the way a plant grows. If it is too cold or too hot, a plant might wither or fail to grow altogether. Also, if the weather is particularly stormy, less hearty plants may not survive.

Good question. I recently had a lovely plant I really liked outside in the hot sun I guess it got too hot and my plant got all dried so the temperature has to be right for the type of plant you would like to have.

Soil temperature greatly affects plants and animals. The plants which need water but there's no enough water to sip in the soil would produce abnormal growth. On other hand, animals who often lives under the soil would find another place or migrate to other area which they find better for them to survive.

Well, firstly temperature of soil does not really affect animals whereas the temperature in soil affect plants mostly because enzymes needed for growth, photosynthesis and respiration to work and these enzymes only work at Optimum temperature genrally (25C for germination and around 35C for other functions). Without this temperature the enzymes will not work properly and plants may not grow well.
