It's not supposed to, but it certainly killed the grass in my lawn when I tried to use it on the clover-infested areas. I'm not sure why... perhaps I applied it in too strong of a mixture... but I haven't found any other information indicating that it can kill grass even in strong mixtures. I also use crossbow on my pastureland for blackberry control, and it doesn't affect those taller more hearty grasses at all.
Crossbow herbicide is guaranteed to kill all weeds and leave grasses intact. Horse tail or Mares tail is a weed which is susceptible to Crossbow herbicide.
