It's very sad and yes nagisa dies after giving birth to ushio. It tears tamoya up and starts to work full time at his job, while blowing his money away on non-work days. Sometimes when Sanie (Nagisa's mom) would bring ushio over, tamoya would never even look at ushio. He starts to be like his father to her. It's sading that he wishes he never met Nagisa so she would still be alive and ushio was never born that way Nagisa would still ba alive.
