"I think that what the poet was trying to state was how so many things are so beautiful in this world but in this world everything that is beautiful or not is not going to last forever. And when he states "Only poetry lasts." I think he isn't really trying to get through that poetry is the only thing that last but what his passion is is what's going to last with him forever no matter what. In this poem I feel he has much passion for it not only because he loves writing but because his life is coming to an end. Also "Nothing will Last" I think because the poet is dying he trying to say that he for sure is not going to last. "The waterfall plunges into the mist. Who can describe this desolate scene." I think means there's so much beauty that it can't be explained, honestly I think the beauty he describes isn't the waterfall but life and everything that lives and seeks beauty."
