Kaddish is a Jewish mourning ritual, so yes, a daughter would be expected to mourn the death of her mother but I don't believe it's obligatory.
Grendel's mother attacks the Danes in retaliation for the death of her son, Grendel, who was killed by Beowulf. She seeks vengeance for the harm done to her family and to protect her own kind from further harm. Her attack is driven by a desire for retribution and the instinct to protect her own.
Grendel's Claw (Arm) & Hroghgar's Closest Friend
Grendel's mother takes only one soldier from Herot as vengeance for her son Grendel's death. She wants to inflict pain and create fear among the people of Herot after the loss of her son. Taking a single soldier can also be seen as a calculated move to emphasize her power and dominance.
Both Beowulf and Grendel's mother are driven by revenge. Beowulf seeks revenge for Grendel's attacks on Heorot, while Grendel's mother seeks revenge for her son's death. Their actions are fueled by a desire to seek retribution for perceived wrongs, making revenge a shared emotion between them.
It is a matter of opinion regarding whether or not the behavior of Grendel's mother seems as wicked or unreasonable as Grendel's behavior. Grendel's mother was simply avenging the death of her son, so many would argue she wasn't as wicked.
The dragon is beowulfs song which most people don't' know cause it doesn't really tell you... and the golden horn Beowulf got from the king is a symbol. If Grendels mother has it he shall not attach but it soon comes back to it's owner and it comes back to Beowulf when he becomes king. So Beowulf and Grendels mother got to gather and he gave her another son, he just couldn't help it. so Beowulf really doesn't kill Grendels mother he just says he does.....
Grendel's mother takes his claw as a form of revenge against Beowulf for killing her son. It serves as a symbolic gesture to challenge Beowulf and his companions and to further escalate the conflict between them.
Her son's, Grendel, arm back that they took as a "victory" of killing him, and the sword that they used on him .
It is unlikely Ikemefuna's mother ever learns of her son's death. It is not described in the book.
