It is in the collected works of Carl Sandburg on the Gutenberg site.
I am extremely frustrated. Although it has been at least 43 years since I heard the poem "The Man With The Five Broken Fingers" by Carl Sandburg I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I was read the poem by my literature teacher when I was in the 8th grade. I believe the poem had to do with a man's treatment in a prison war camp during World War 2 ---- [Edit] The Poem first appeared on August 23, 1942. It was probably written earlier that year. See my link.

Yes it is a poem by Vachel Lindsay...what about it
The first paragraph of a poem is commonly known as a stanza. It is a group of lines that form a unit in a poem, similar to a paragraph in prose writing. Stanzas can vary in length and structure depending on the poem's form and style.
"Five Little Ducks" is both a poem and a song. It is a popular children's nursery rhyme that can be recited as a poem or sung to a melody.

A five-stanza poem might be 20 lines long, broken into five sections of four lines each. There's no rule about how many sentences a poem (or a stanza) has to contain. An example of that would be: 1)I have a pet bat, 2)no not a cat, 3)who lives in a hat, 4)and lies on a mat, lines 1-4 go together in 1 stanza and this is how you repeat the rest to make your 5 stanza poem!
