Beowulf took a total of fourteen warriors with him to Denmark to assist in defeating the monster Grendel. This group set sail from Geatland to respond to King Hrothgar's call for help. The warriors were chosen for their strength and bravery, reflecting Beowulf's status as a noble hero.
Beowulf, like many Kings or great warriors of that time period; was buried with all of his possesions and treasure that he had acquired throughout his reign as King of Denmark. The most important of things buried with him are the plunders from the dragon Beowulf died fighting.
