Poem written in the World War 1?

I cannot say for certain because I am from a different continent but I suppose it could be "The Waste Land" by T.S. Eliot

Actually its "In Flanders Fields" John McCrae 1915 - its universally agreed this is the most famous of all war poems across the ages.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Wake up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Kinda opinionated... Because they wanted to show how they felt in the time they were going through and to record what they went through so that others could see how they felt.
