"Yes" and "no" are not often used in Welsh. To a "Do you...?" question we would always explicitly reply "I do" (for yes) or "I do not" (for no). In the case of most past-tense questions, however, the replies "Do" (yes) or "Naddo" (no) tend to be used, but to explicitly respond "Yes I did", I suppose you could say "Gwnes" (I did).

English and Welsh do not always use the same sentence patterns, so directly translating between the two can sometimes be tricky. The wider context can often be important in guiding the translation.
