What is the purpose color coding your writing?

You can easily identify certain areas (EX:Put all your quotes in red) and

organize your writing (EX:Red-quotes, Purple-paraphrase, Green-definitions), which is very helpful when scrambling through notes for a definition. I've found when I color code my writing, I retain the information.
