Noli Me Tangere, which means Touch me Not, is a novel by Jose Rizal. The title is based on a quote by Jesus in a verse in the King James Version of The Bible; John 20:17. Some of the main characters in the story are Crisostomo Ibarra (the protagonist), Maria Clara, Capitan Tiago and Padre Damaso. There is no symbolism of the characters.
