I have never heard the term solo talks. do you mean reciting poems from memory or something like that, or speeches in English Classes. I graduated in l974 and never heard the term solo talks, a new one on me. Monologues, yes. Usually a speech on a given subject area ( for example Hemingway) or memorized recitals of poems.
