this book is about a girl in high school called Hidly Biddle and she is a reporter for her newspaper in school called "The Core" and is struggling to find a topic to report. One day she comes across the town's biggest story and it is about the haunted Ludlow house. Everyone is freaking out over it because the whole town thinks there are ghosts and Hildy needs to find all of this out. Things get even worse when people says there is a dead man in the house. With the help of her friends they figure out the truth behind the haunted house. They end up making their own newspaper called "the peel" at the end of the story.
