Merlin objected because it was rumored that he himself had a love for Guinevere.
But according to history Lady Guinevere AKA Queen of Arthur who fell in love with Lancelot and failed to give the king an heir. (could also be why he objected, since Merlin was a sorcerer and probably saw the future)
More about Guinevere:
Early Welsh literature names her Gwenhwyfar, the "White Phantom" and the "first lady of the island." Geoffrey of Monmouth names her Gunhamura, a Roman lady. Some accounts, including for a time the monks at Glastonbury, maintain that Guinevere was Arthur's second wife. The idea of her being rescued dates from 11th century literature, which tells of her abduction by King Melwas and rescue by Arthur. With Chretien de Troyes comes the listing of her rescuer as Lancelot, who saved her from captivity at the hands of Melegeant in Gorre. Later traditions have her as the daughter of Leodegrance, who gave as part of her dowry the Round Table. Her first meeting with Lancelot is also in dispute: Some sources say he escorted her to her wedding to Arthur; other sources say they met when Lancelot came to court. Whatever the case, they are always portrayed as lovers in the end. Later tales have her retiring to a nunnery or being abducted by Mordred.
🤗
Arthur hasn't YET. Only Lancelot, Gaius, Merlin's mother, Merlin's friend from his old village Will and Merlin himself (obviously) know that Merlin is a sorcerer. Lets keep our fingers crossed that Arthur does find out, If Merlin tells Arthur, imagine Arthur's face, or if Arthur realizes Merlin is a sorcerer and confronts him, imagine Merlin's face!! Added by Queen Arwen: Arthur may not have found out yet, but apparently he will in Season 5. This is from reliable sources, and is not just hearsay!
It all started when they were young when Arthur was just prince, Arthur have captured Merlin to go to prison when Merlin accidently disrespected him, and when Arthur went in his royal dinning room he encountered his father, Uther Pentragon, with someone who came to kill Arthur and when this enemy of Arthur threw a knife at Arthur, Merlin jumped and pushed him aside and saved his life. And therefore Arthur's father made him Arthur's personal protector. But no one knew he had magic accept for Merlins mentor Blaise.
Merlin was an adviser to King Arthur. There is a very famous story of a poor boy named Arthur, who Merlin took in. He taught him well and when the time came to choose a king, the country decided whoever could pull the sword out of the stone would be king. No one could do it, but Arthur even though he was just a boy.
Morgana in the TV series, Merlin, is said to be King Uther's ward, But really in the legend she is Arthur's evil step sister Morgan La Feye. In the first series there is some suspision into whether Arthur and Morgana fancy/love each other and the same with Merlin! But soon after Arthur is in love with Guinevere which is in the Arturian Legend. So that leaves Merlin but soon after in late Season 3 and 4, She is evil and hates both of them. So, Morgana loves niether Arthur nor Merlin.
Merlin is trying to encourage Arthur to embrace his destiny as a wise and just ruler. He aims to instill in Arthur the values of leadership, honor, and responsibility, guiding him to unite the kingdom and uphold the principles of chivalry. Through mentorship and guidance, Merlin seeks to help Arthur recognize his potential and navigate the challenges he will face as king.
Guinevere was just Lady Morgana's maid when Uther was at the throne. Guinevere soon became close to Prince Arthur and when Arthur became King he choose Guinevere to be his Queen.
Merlin, because he helped Arthur gain the throne when his father died. Sadly, he lived until he was sure that Arthur could go on without him and died in a magic sealed cave. It was believed that he had a apprentice. His apprentice learned that Merlin knew the magic words for sealing the cave, but not unsealing the cave. So the apprentice tricked Merlin into believing that she wanted to look inside the cave but actually, she just wanted to seal Merlin in the cave and become the greatest magician in the world.
Instead of searching for answers on here, why dont you just go read the book? Noobs -.-
I suppose it's really because things were very different then. In Ancient Egypt people could become pharoahs at as young as nine. So I guess, really, if we're considering the story complete and utter fact, it was just because things were just so different.
he used his awsome skill to get a round table naa just joken Merlin cut it from a massive tree he used his awsome skill to get a round table naa just joken Merlin cut it from a massive tree
Merlin has a beard and Merlin is just a servant person thingy and Morgana is the kings sister so i guess they're just kind of nothing in laws.
