I think a good idea on how to prevent flood's in the future would be to dredge the river's or dig the river's out.so allowing the water to be lower than the bank like it was done in Boscastle.

Yes. The Nile River, like most rivers can flood. The ancient Egyptians lived close to the river and used its periodic flooding to help their crops.
Well floods do not exactly have names just places. But hurricanes do like hurricane Katrina for instance!
Well, it depends on the depth of the river. If it is shallow it will flood more regularly like every 9-10 days but if it is quite deep it will flood about every month. Hope this helps!!!
yes because that brought water which in the water is mineral also necessary for the soil. if it didnt flood they would irrigate so it would flood
why do you think large cities like St.Louis, andNew Orleans,Louisiana, grew on the Mississipi River?
The cause is that through Bangladesh flows a lot of rivers like Atrai River which flow from the Himalayas!
depends which parts, in areas around rivers like the river severn or the river avon it will flood more often than some where no where near them.
"Crest" means the highest the water level is expected to get. "Flood stage" is the water level where the river is over it's banks, hence "flooding". A river can crest below, at, or above it's flood stage. It can crest three inches above flood stage (innocuous) or fifteen feet above flood stage (a disaster). Or anywhere in between. Or below flood stage. Every river, every spring, is different.
well it doesn't (to help the greenery like grass) but the construction of the Aswan dam helped filter the amount of water.
