Both reading and literacy are important for individuals in both urban and rural areas. Literacy enables people to access information, communicate effectively, and participate fully in society regardless of where they live. It is essential for personal development, education, and economic opportunities.
In many countries, larger cities tend to lean towards more liberal or left-leaning parties due to factors such as diversity, education levels, and social issues that are important to urban populations. These parties often prioritize policies related to urban development, social welfare, and equality.
People obey those in power for several reasons, including fear of punishment, desire for rewards or approval, belief in the legitimacy of authority, and social norms that dictate obedience to authority figures. Additionally, the perception of power held by those in authority can also influence people to comply with their commands.
the people who elected them. They are accountable for their actions and decisions, as they are meant to serve the best interests of the citizens they represent. Failure to fulfill their responsibilities can result in being voted out of office in the next election.
Technically speaking the Church isn't supposed to be important politically. in reality it is important because quite a few people are members of church and those members are usually socially active which means that the church has quite a large voter base. Socially they are important because they set standards for how people are supposed to behave and in some places being part of a church offers a certain status.
Two important aspects of culture are shared beliefs and values that help shape the behaviors and interactions within a community, and the expression of those beliefs through practices such as rituals, traditions, and art forms.
Well really hard. People who live in the countryside mostly live from Agriculture and those who live in the cities live from different jobs ( public sector,fabrics,trading....)
Entirely depends. On the countryside, it's mostly cars. In the big cities, particularly those with universities, there's a fair bit of bicycling.
Rural refers to the countryside. Rural dwellers are those that do not live in urban, built up areas or cities.
No it is not. Like most of pre-industrial societies the majority of people lived in the countryside, tilling the land. However, it is true that this area was highly urbanised. Constantinople was the largest city in the European Middle Ages with a population of 500.000, which for those days was huge. There were also other big cities.
Those who live in the Chinese countryside have a very different lifestyle compared to those who live in Europe, especially the UK. Most individuals who live in the UK tend to have a very modern way of life, while in the Chinese countryside individuals are generally vary limited in what they can afford due to a significant amount of them relying on basically subsistence farming. In the UK however, even if an individual is a farmer, they live a fairly modern lifestyle due to the technological innovations that haven't quite met everyone in the Chinese countryside.
Large cities are often called "heat islands" The large amount of activities and energy expenditure, such as from cars, factories, lighting etc, can cause the temperatures in large cities to be slightly higher than the surrounding countryside. Localised air pollution also has a insulating effect, which also causes the temperature in the city to be slightly higher. See below. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_heat_island (If this was helpful, please recommend me.)
Summer temperatures in a large city are generally higher compared to those in the surrounding countryside due to the urban heat island effect. Cities contain a high density of buildings and concrete, which absorb and retain heat, leading to increased temperatures through radiation and reduced cooling through conduction. In contrast, the countryside has more vegetation and open spaces, allowing for better heat dissipation and lower overall temperatures.
Because they want to get those people attention also to show that those people are important
Around 65% of the population live in cities and permanent settlements. However many of those who live in cities live in the traditional Ger (tents) which are moveable.
Those who live in villages and hamlets.
First, people believed in God and the church. Second, people saw monastic life as a way to life in peace and security in a chaotic world. During the first four hundred years of the middle ages, people in western Europe were badly exposed to armed groups of people who were migrating or raiding. The Germanic tribes were a type of such groups, and the Vikings were another. People who lived in the countryside needed protection, and this could come if they moved to walled cities or organized themselves under local, able leadership. Both of theses routes provided some security, but at a price. In those days things were so bad that many people literally sold themselves into slavery in exchange for security. One alternative to this exposure was living in a monastery. Monasteries were sacked and destroyed, just as towns and cities were, but they were not as tempting as targets in most places. People in them had a better chance than many in the countryside, also.
They were chosen because they would be the places like the cities and busy areas and those were the places with the most factories. Therefore if they bombed down the cities they would destroy the factories as well as kill/injure loads of people!
