Centrality refers to the degree to which entities within a network are central or influential. It measures the importance of a node within a network based on its connections and interactions with other nodes. Nodes with higher centrality are often key players in the network and have more control over the flow of information or resources.

In Government, "centrality" refers to the level of concentration of power at the highest level. For instance, the more power a nation's Federal government has versus its states or provinces, the more "centralized" that government system is.

This is not to be confused with "centrist" which, in reference to political philosophy, refers to a position that is neither liberal nor conservative, but rather in between the two.
