I can't speak for everyone but in my opinion there were two major social effects brought about by the Civil War.
One was the beginning of the struggle for civil rights and equality for African Americans along side the opportunity to mend and bring about a more perfect Union which is still being fought today.
The other is that the Civil War made the United States a unified Nation. That is One Nation. No north, no south no State sovereignty. We are now and have been ever since The United States of America.
The Political effects were the same as with most major events in history and I think even more so today. I see the exposure of these events, the fallen and the social effects used for political purposes that serve politicians and their constituencies. For example, even Abraham Lincoln used the outcome of Antietam to make his case for the Union through the Emancipation Proclamation, which he tactically waited to do until a Union victory was made. Although Lincoln was opposed to slavery, he used the Emancipation Proclamation politically to garner support for the Union cause.
After World War I, political radicalism saw the rise of communist movements influenced by the Russian Revolution, such as the establishment of the Soviet Union and the spread of socialist ideas across Europe. Social radicalism also emerged as a response to the failures of the pre-war political systems, with movements advocating for greater equality, women's rights, and civil liberties.
White landowning planters dominated the South's economy and political system before the Civil War. They controlled the majority of the region's agricultural production and held political power through their influence in state legislatures and Congress.
Civil rights refer to the basic rights and freedoms that protect individuals from discrimination based on characteristics like race, gender, or religion. Political rights, on the other hand, relate to participation in the political process, such as the right to vote or run for office. In essence, civil rights guarantee equality and protection under the law, while political rights enable individuals to have a voice in shaping that law.
The Constitution provided no guidance on secession or readmission of states.
After World War I, societies dealt with political, economic, and social challenges in various ways. Some implemented social welfare programs to address social inequalities, while others experienced political instability leading to revolutions or coups. Economies struggled with high inflation and unemployment, and some turned to protectionist policies to try to recover. Overall, the aftermath of World War I resulted in significant changes in governance, society, and the global economy.

The Civil War resulted in significant social and political consequences, including the abolition of slavery and the establishment of Reconstruction policies aimed at integrating formerly enslaved individuals into society. Following the war, factors such as economic opportunities, technological advancements, and the desire for land led to the westward expansion of the U.S. This expansion had profound effects, including the displacement of Native American populations, the growth of new industries, and increased tensions over issues like slavery and state rights, ultimately shaping the nation's identity and political landscape.
Rome became dominant in the Western Mediterranean. It had also become embroiled in the Eastern Mediterannean. Although enriched by new possessions, its social and economic structure was damaged and altered by the effects on its citizen-soldiers. These led to an expanding empire and social and political tensions which deteriorated into the civil war.
During the Civil War, Arkansas was a Confederate state, experiencing significant military campaigns and battles, including the Battle of Pea Ridge and the siege of Little Rock. The war devastated the state's economy and infrastructure, leading to widespread hardship. After the war, Arkansas underwent a difficult Reconstruction period, facing political turmoil, social upheaval, and economic challenges as it transitioned back to a Union state. The lingering effects of the war and Reconstruction shaped the state's social and political landscape for years to come.

A civil war is a conflict between factions or regions within the same country, often involving struggles for political control, resources, or social issues. In Central America, notable civil wars include the Salvadoran Civil War (1980-1992) and the Nicaraguan Contra War (1981-1990), both of which were marked by intense violence and significant foreign involvement. These conflicts were driven by deep-seated social inequalities, political repression, and the influence of Cold War dynamics.
