the basic principles of the Indian foreign policy are as follows:-

1)non-alignment movement-the term non-alignment as coined by pt.jawaharlal nehru of India. non-alignment means not aligning with any of the two power blocs( the us n the ussr ) during the era of cold war. it means that India is independent to follow its own foreign policy.nasser of Egypt,tito of yugslavia,pt.nehru of India,sukarno of Egypt and kwame nkrumah were the members of nam.

2)panchsheel-the second most important principle of the Indian foreign policy is panchsheel which was signed on 29 apr.1954 between India and china.the main aims of panchsheel were:-

1. Mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty

2. Mutual non-aggression

3. Mutual non-interference in domestic affairs

4. Equality and mutual benefit

5. Peaceful co-existence
