Did Andrew Jackson influence any politics?

Jackson read law and made his way to the frontier in Tennessee. His law practice prospered and he became well known in Tennessee. The state voted him its first congressman in 1796. He served only briefly in the Senate. He was so disgusted with the way he was treated in Washington, as a rough-hewn backwoodsman, that he resigned his seat and moved back to Tennessee.

He was strongly against the National Bank. He was not a friend of any of the Native Americans he voted for the Indian Removale Act and he was a democrate representing the 'common man' as well as a Nationalist.

He ran as the first frontier president, but he was a wealthy lawyer even though he was born in a log cabin. He used that to say he was for the "common man", but once he got into office he gave jobs to people who had helped him become president.
