How did the Palestinians respond to imperialism from Britain?

Unlike the Syrians, who were able to galvanize a resistance and fight the French in several civil wars, the Palestinians were unable to form a unified resistance to the British. However, since one of the goals of the British administration was to protect the minority Jewish community, Palestinian Muslims began to mobilize and violently attack Jewish settlements in order to anatagonize the British and make occupation difficult. They also appointed regional leaders to petition the British Mandatory Government with their grievances, namely the increasing growth (in numbers) and wealth of the Zionist Jewish immigrants.
