The introduction is the section of the debate that crystallizes points. These points are mentioned at the beginning of the debate so that the opponents know what exactly are going to be debated.
A proper debate competition is begun by stating the motion(topic) and who is proposing and who is opposing. A chairperson should be present who reads the rules of the debate. He/She can then call the member of the proposition to speak.
