I read an essay from the blog http://randdocsandpapers.blogspot.com/2011/08/how-does-priestley-convey-his-message.html
It really shows how priestly conveys his message. It suggests that he uses the inspector as his alter-ego.
Also don't bother trying to plagiarise from it because it can be picked up. anyway it has some good ideas so have a look
In "An Inspector Calls," J.B. Priestley uses the Birling family dynamics to emphasize social responsibility by showcasing how each member's actions impact others. The Inspector's arrival disrupts their complacency, revealing the moral failures of characters like Arthur and Sheila, who initially embody self-interest and denial. As the play progresses, Sheila's transformation highlights the potential for awareness and change, contrasting with her father's stubbornness. Ultimately, Priestley advocates for a collective ethical responsibility, suggesting that the well-being of society relies on acknowledging the interconnectedness of all individuals.
There is no political message. Its a satire based on the Beatles!
Message of noli me tangere
in my opinion, the inspector is JB Priestley himself because if you look outside the box(plot, storyline) it really has an inner message. this is why the inspector knows the future and the character's conscience because he controls the characters.-sorry, i talked a lot t's just we did a whole essay about this thing!-happy to help :)Inspector Goole -- who in fact is not an inspector -- is a strange character and we never really find out who he is. The name Goole is similar sounding to ghoul which then relates to ghost, which leaves you thinking that maybe he isnon human. But the questions Inspector Goole asks, you get the feeling he already knows the answer to them all. Each question he asks, it is as if he is informing them of their incorrect actions and he is almost like the conscience they should have but it has been blocked out, and it is now coming back to haunt them all.
The Great Depression, which began in 1929, highlights themes of social responsibility and class disparity in J.B. Priestley's "An Inspector Calls." The economic struggles of the era resonate with the play's critique of the upper class's indifference to the plight of the working class, as illustrated by the Birling family's treatment of Eva Smith. The Inspector's message emphasizes the interconnectedness of society and the moral obligation to care for one another, mirroring the calls for social reform that emerged during the Great Depression. Overall, the play serves as a timeless reminder of the consequences of neglecting social responsibility in times of crisis.

An indirect political message is a subtle or implicit expression of a political opinion or viewpoint, often conveyed through art, literature, satire, or other forms of creative expression. It may not be overt or directly stated, but can still influence or shape public opinion on political issues.
