A theocracy is a form of government in which religious leaders control the state, and religious laws are used as the basis for legal and political authority. In a theocracy, the government is often seen as divinely guided, with leaders typically claiming to represent the will of a deity. Decisions are made according to religious doctrine, and citizens may be expected to adhere to the established religious norms.
