Canada and china are democracies
In modern constitutional democracies, monarchs primarily serve as symbolic figureheads with limited political power. Their roles often include performing ceremonial duties, representing national unity, and promoting cultural traditions. While they may have some formal powers, these are typically exercised under the guidance of elected officials, ensuring that governance remains democratic and accountable to the people. This evolution reflects a balance between tradition and modern democratic principles.
I agree that most of the worlds governments are republics but for how many are democracies, I think only half of these countries are democracies. note: Sudan is a republic but it is mostly authoritarian. So was Egypt before the Arab Spring. Many African countries are republics but they are dominated by just one party.
