Practical democracy
A republic is more practical than a true democracy given the population we have.
With 300 million people in the US, it is not possible to have a Direct Democracy. The number is just too great to work.

In a large country like the US it is more practical to have a representative democracy than a direct one. With such a large and diverse population this form of government can be seen as much more practical.
A people-centered government is called a democracy. The most people-centered government is called a direct democracy, where people decide on policy measures directly. This works best in smaller situations. Modern democracies are typically an indirect democracy, or representative democracy, where elected officials represent a group of people. This is more practical when a citizenry has a large population.

considering that a presidential democracy is when the power is held by an elected president you can use it like.... the citizens voted for the president because their government was a presidential democracy.
A true democracy is where every citizen would vote directly on all matters concerning them. Not very practical when population is in the millions. So when the masses elect somebody to make decisions for them, it is called a representative democracy.

Representative democracy is the most popular form of democracy worldwide. In this system, citizens elect representatives to make decisions and pass laws on their behalf, allowing for a more manageable governance structure in larger populations. This format is prevalent in many countries, including the United States and much of Europe, as it balances direct citizen participation with practical governance.
