Was William ever the King of England?

I think Henrys main strength is that he has lots of children that could take his place in the throne unlike Edward I with no children. He looked after all of his people by winning battles. Henry VII had won many battles and had loss barely but the most famous battle he won was when he had defeated Richard III at the battle of Bosworth Field and that is when he became king of England and also became the first Tudor monarch.

King John was not a good king. He was accused of murdering his own nephew(Arthur) and family, so he could get the throne. He fell out with the pope and was excommunicated. He never fully regained trust from the church. He lost againist the French in the Battle of The Bouvines and many other battles. This lead people o know him as "Soft Sword"

Robin Hood (mythically) does poor King John no good. But his elder brother Richard Lionheart is really rated as an English King, which is rich because he couldn't even speak English ! John is backed into a corner by having to sign Magna Carta in 1215.

John was not a good king. He was quite unable to command the obedience and service of his barons, as a result of which he could raise neither armies nor money to defend his domains in France, and lost much of them. He quarrelled with the Church to the extent of getting excommunicated and having the Pope authorise the French to invade England. When he died the barons were in revolt, there was a French army in southern England, a Scottish army in northern England, he controlled only half the country, and the French prince Louis had been crowned king of England in Westminster. And he did not compensate for his political and military ineptitude either by administrative reforms, legal reforms, public works, notable buildings, or sponsorship of the Arts. The country wasn't notably prosperous under his reign, and he wasn't well-liked by the common folk.

Answer There have been four kings named William in British History. William I (the Conqueror) reigned as King of England from 25th December 1066 until his death on 9th September 1087. William II, son of William I, reigned as King of England from 9th September 1087 until his death on 2nd August 1100. William III, "William of Orange" reigned as King of England and King of Ireland from 13th February 1689 jointly with his wife Queen Mary II until her death on 28th December 1694 and then reigned alone until his death on 8th March 1702. He was also William II of Scots from 11th April 1689 until his death. William IV reigned as King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 26th June 1830 until his death on 20th June 1837.

Yes and no because he burnt all of his peoples crops but also he didn't just desert them in mid battle and he was a very friendly man but if you got on the wrong side of him then he could be as mean as can be, he was also a very experienced king but a very dangerous one too.I totally agree, but didn't he burn down many villages and Exeter!! although from a picture from after his death shows him as a caring & kind to nature person he then captures his cousin in (1203). which to me doesn't sound friendly!!

well he was a good king but he wasn't that nice and i am not possibly sure if he was that much of a good ruler but he did marry 6 wives just to get a son of heir to the throne so that was kind of good because he married six wives just to get a son of heir to the throne for the country. not sure if this is a real thing i just heard it before.
