The dictionary defines Fascism as a governmental system where one central authority (often a dictator) makes all decisions, where nationalism and militarism are exalted, and where one race or culture is considered superior (and all dissenters are suppressed). This certainly defines what Mussolini instituted in Italy, as well as what Hitler instituted in Germany.

The two most notorious examples of what may be called "modern era events" was the fascism that first developed in Italy shortly after the First World War. The next major example began in Germany in 1933 when Hitler and the Nazi Party took over Germany. Fascism is a Dictatorship that by and large seeks to have ultimate control of all a nations social, economical and political life. It allows for private property and for private industry, however, at any time a dictatorship in a fascist government can make radical changes as it's a one party system.
