There many reasons why vacancies exist. The type of vacancy will determine its purpose of existence. Vacancies for a permanent position could be because of staff resignation, business expansion or employee retirement. For temporary positions, it could be because of staff illness or massive increase in demand of their goods or services (Xmas periods, summer sales, public events such as Olympic Games etc...).

• are fired
