In politics, "Hawk" typically refers to individuals or groups who advocate for a strong and aggressive approach to foreign policy, including the frequent use of military force to protect national interests. On the other hand, "Dove" refers to those who prefer peaceful and diplomatic solutions to conflicts, often emphasizing negotiation and dialogue over military intervention. These terms are commonly used to describe differing viewpoints on military action and international relations within political discourse.
In United States politics, a dove is a person who is committed to peace and opposed to entry into a war. A hawk is a person who believes in the deployment of military force to achieve certain goals.
The word 'hawk' is used to mean someone who is pro-war, as opposed to a pro-peace 'dove'.

It means the garage door is closed. OR, There is a theory called A predator-prey model with predators using hawk and dove tactics. Predator individuals can use two behavioral tactics to dispute a prey when they meet, the classical hawk and dove tactics. Each individual can use both tactics along its life. Predator extinction occurs when all predators are hawk while there is coexistence when predators are mixed hawk and dove. I see this and a warning that to many hawks in the world create an imbalance and that when the door is shut to the dove the world is in trouble.
The opposite of a war hawk is a peace dove. A war hawk is someone who is a proponent of war, and a peace dove is someone who is opposed to war.
